We were super stoked to come across this clean Canon 518 Auto Zoom Super 8 camera. This is a classic automatic Super 8 camera that is very popular due to it's ease of use and quality manufacturing. The camera comes with it's own case and we're throwing in a FREE ROLL of Super 8 film. This roll actually came with the camera so it's likely out of date, but that could mean it could create some pretty cool images.
We tested the camera by putting in batteries and all functions are working properly. We have not shot and processed a roll of film through the camera, but with all functions running properly, these cameras are quite simple and we're pretty confident that it will record to film just fine. This camera requires 3 AA batteries in the top compartment to power the film advance trigger, along with another single AA battery in the handle to power the auto-zoom feature.
It ALSO, uses 2 watch batteries in the side compartment to power the light meter. But we found a nice little hack in this Youtube video. So check that out below after purchasing to save yourself a little headache of finding those original batteries.
