On this 10 year anniversary of the Static series, we’ve finally managed to catch up with the technology of the 1990’s and burned the original “Static” video onto dvd! Welcome to the future folks.
Static is the first video that inspired the full Static series and features skaters from up and down the east coast, including Jeff Lenoce, Paul Zitzer, Sean Mullendore, Joel Meinholz, Forrest Kirby and the breakout part of Maryland’s Jacob Rupp. Originally premiering in fall of 1999, Static also features in depth segments on specific regions including the northeastern US, Love Park, the desert southwest, Miami, Tampa and a well rounded Washington DC segment. The dvd re-release features several bonus items including the “Cigar City” video, a video centered around the Tampa, Florida skate scene in 1996, as well as the “Rising” video, originally premiering in 1998 and featuring a bang-up Ed Selego part. Static can also be viewed with commentary by director Josh Stewart and featured skater Paul Zitzer.
