Jerry Mraz went huntin' for spots and ended up bagging this frontside noseblunt across some tricky steps bridging two narrow banks in an eastern New York city neighborhood. Photo by Josh Stewart
And no matter where anyone comments, it pops on the homepage…dope man. Im liking this site.
Jura, I just added a scroll to the comments on the home page, so you can see more recent comments from around the site.
Thanks Jura. It very well may have been able to get printed, but it’s a tough game out there these days. Skateboarder Mag shows the east coast a decent amount of love. But they have a staff photographer here in NY already with Jon Mehring so it’s often tough to trump his coverage of the city.
Damn, sick spot. Doesn’t look like an easy ride up. His jacket reminds me of the shit all them redneck boys wear down here in the FL
Theories of Atlantis.. ‘join the conspiracy’
Hey here’s a problem, where is the “HOME” button?
Ho-ly Shit
Theories of Atlantis.. “let’s be friends!”
“His coverage of the city”? What the f@*k that got to do with this picture makin it to a mag?! Did you send it in? Let’s start there.
Any word on whether or not this guy has a new video part in the works? Anything new from Coda would be incredible.
Thanks for the new desktop background
Are you still shooting photos regularly?
Unfortunately, shooting photos is a very rare occurence these days.
Especially since I got rid of my car a year ago. Lugging photo gear and a video camera on my back while skating through the city is not necessarily helping my back problems. But whenever I get the opportunity I love it.
Yeah, but did you send that photo to a magazine?
Why is it that some rando kid’s question gets answered, but not the Towel’s?
PC Bullshit. Better known as PCB. Or, “The Stewart Effect”.
Damn, it’s been a while!
But I love it!
Or as Stewart would say, “butt, I love it!”
I think Mraz has a WWII combat helmet on under that hood.
No I never sent the photo out. Maybe I should have. Jerry and I both agreed that the photo didn’t turn out the way we had hoped. The bank he lands into is super narrow with a wall and dirt right next to it. That’s where I had to stand to shoot the photo and it didn’t allow for the landing to be seen enough. But now that I see it on the screen I am kinda’ feeling it.
And to the commenter asking about Jerry working on a new video part. I know that he actually has a couple projects under his sleeve. It just depends on how he decides to release them. But I would expect that we see a part from him some time this summer.
maybe you should send it to FTK?
Ok, now answer the other questions in “Let’s Party”.
What questions? No, good spots do NOT make a part good. But they are a HUGE help if they’re spots nobody’s ever seen before.
jerry rules
did he really have a hemet on?
First off, let’s move this conversation back to the main post. It’s not fair to Jerry to have a conversation in his comment slot about a topic that’s not about his photo. Which should have been in a magazine. But that’s neither here nor there. So I will see you in that ridiculous “Miami” post.
Posting the trailer of the video I’ve been working on for a year is “ridiculous”?
For a skateshop owned by the two friends I made some of my first videos with in Tampa roughly 16 years ago?
The Stewart Effect. Don’t distract. I just meant “The all eyes on Miami” title and then tying it in to the ridiculous and mindless “Superbowl” aspect of it. All those fluf youtube clips. I clicked on them and then just clicked right off them. I don’t want my time wasted. You want to post a trailer about your friends skate video, post the trailer. Don’t waste our time posting garbage about the Superbowl. No one gives a shit about the Superbowl. That shit was corny. So yes, ridiculous. I mean shit, that ubergay youtube clip about men shuffling around in tights? You like watching men dance around in tights? The “Bears”? What the fuck is wrong with you? Yeah, Ridiculous.
And again, I said, don’t waste Jerry’s comment section with your bullshit. Bring it to the main page. See this is what’s wrong with this website. The whole thing’s a big distraction. All the good shit gets lost in the (no pun intended), shuffle.
