News: Magick and the Palace Mysteries
I was wearing a Palace Skateboards shirt the other day when bird shit rained down upon my life from the skies. I was filming with Ed Selego and Joel Meinholz at the time and they soon began referring to my shirt as the magic shirt, due to the belief that getting shat upon by a bird is good luck. Didn’t feel too magical to me. Then, soon after Steve Brandi sent me a text asking if I had seen the new Palace promo and it hit me that a strange magical synchronicititous event was occurring…..
Ok, not really. But it was very strangely coincidental. And it gives me an excuse to link to the sick new Palace promo. If you haven’t seen it yet, check it out here
Although, being shit on by a bird in relation to my magical mystical t-shirt of late reminded me of this video which attempts to describe the source of some of the “magick” concepts within the Palace promo.

Speaking of filming TVs (you mentioned it in the last post), that seems to be the new trend for skate videos. I’ve noticed quite a few people doing that lately. That’s what it looked like they did in this. The promo is pretty sick, feeling the xx song.

I’m pretty sure that piece was edited by Lev Tanju. The same guy who does the “Global Skateboarding News” edits on “Don’t Watch That TV”.
I know when I was last in London I saw him filming a lot with an old shoulder-mounted VHS camera. So I think that’s what a lot of the look you’re talking about was coming from. But I think he also is filming a lot of stuff off the TV as well. I think this technique is better fitting for the idea he has going for Palace than it has been with other things I’ve seen it use within. So sick.

Yeah Im pretty hyped on what these guys have going. Pretty dope that they just added Lucien Clark to the team as well. Also really looking forward to the new Blueprint video which I believe premieres in London on April 4th.

Rabbit, are you a total retard? You actually think Nike is stealing their “image” from Palace? First off, anything that you see come out of Nike was probably developed at least a year ago.
