News: Before They Were Shitbags
We have a winner in the “Before They Were Shitbags” contest. Readers were asked to click on the image above to see a photo of a well-known skater before he picked up his first skateboard. If they thought they knew who the innocent kid in the photo ended up becoming, they were to send their guesses to me at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). The first reader to send the correct guess would win a free Theories shirt. After a lot of guesses poured in, we finally got our winner. Click the photo to find out who it is.
Amongst a lot of incorrect guesses, mostly saying either Puleo or Oyola, we had a fast-acting reader with the right answer thrown in the winning guess…..Daniel Morales was the 3rd person to get an answer emailed in to me but he was the 1st to get the correct answer.
So who, you ask, is that innocent looking kid in the photo?......well, thankfully, this little guy put down the football for good and traded it in for a skateboard because if not we never would’ve been treated to one of my favorite styles in skateboarding, and a Floridian at that. That’s right, the photo below is of a young Danny Renaud. Congratulations to Daniel, you’ll be receiving a Theories shirt in the mail soon. Heard you can’t even skate that huge square anymore with all the amazing spots. You know, the one with the ledge into the double bank. Heard that whole square is a bust now because of some American skate tourists beat the shit out of some security guard really bad. Weak.

Heard it was because Stevie kicked off Darren Harper via text message and he was all pissed because of it and he had just gotten a DGK tattoo, or something to that nature. Pretty funny either way
