Book Club: "An Act of State" by William Pepper

So, with the continuing discussions of the BART shooting in San Francisco, and the ongoing horrors of the Gaza conflict, we continue the topic of injustice in this weeks installment of the Theories book club. Today the club returns to nerd out on a new book that is rocking my literary world entitled “An Act of State” by attorney William F. Pepper. The book chronicles the author’s nearly 30 year search for the truth behind the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Similar to “Crossfire”, the last book featured in the book club, “An Act of State” unearths mountains of shocking new evidence tying none other than your lovely and trustworthy US government and military to the killing, which it quickly becomes obvious, was a military operation from start to finish.
But what makes Mr. Pepper’s story even more enthralling is following along with him during his own journey of discovery as he hunts down witnesses, key players and even face to face meetings with the alleged assassin himself. The man to bring the only real trial in the murder of MLK has brought us an incredible book that should be required reading for every American citizen and student alike.
Buy this book and your view of our country will change forever.Buster movie

  3. MLK’s last speech is disturbingly prophetic, isn’t it. Thanks for the post. Old news, but good news. Just to let your viewers know, William Pepper(no, not the ex-Element pro) is still active in the “truth movement” and is currently involved in the NYC 9/11 Ballot Initiative, http://www.nyc911initiative.org/ which was working very hard to get a petition signed for a new investigation into 9/11. Word up.

  6. Um….no offense, EastcoastOligy, but “The Bloop” shouldn’t be discussed in the same post as the MLK assassination. It’s the same thing as when I used to go to the book store to find a book about the JFK assassination and discover that it was filed away under “New Age” or “Paranormal”. The idea of linking such things together damages the credibility of important subjects like MLK, RFK and JFK’s assassinations in people’s minds and therefore they dismiss ever really investigating the mountain of evidence that proves what we have been told happened is an outrageous lie.

  7. In Towelizer’s Book Club, we’re gonna take a look at the New York Times bestselling author and neo-conservative pundit, Tony Blankley’s new book, American Grit. In it he outlines how we can make America’s power “last forever” and how to achieve a “new nationalism”. He prescribes a three-pronged approach, and lays out a compelling plan for the U.S. to implement (from Amazon):
    * A universal military draft of both men and women–not only to boost the size of our fighting force, but to instill a unity of toughness and cultural purpose among both the personally self-indulgent and un-assimilated immigrants. (A draft.)
    * A policy to get us on the road to energy independence to expand our diplomatic and economic options in the Middle East and around the world. (note the use of the word “independence”.)
    * A serious and sophisticated program for communicating Western moral values and the American spirit of self-determination to people living under oppressive regimes as well as to voters here at home.(”Western moral values.” I love it!)
Listen to Tony interviewed on everyone’s favorite amplifying device, Fox News, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=esRjcwyjUUU
Anyhow, onto Towelizer’s magazine club. Anyone see Obama’s new Newsweek cover? Does anyone else see an owl? http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/0cCydxHcLC5ch/340x.jpg

  12. I also wanted to post this Digg comment on the article I just posted that I thought was interesting. It reminds us of the true nature and aim of the Constitution:
“There is a mention in the article which is a mistake. The Bill of Rights IS NOT a list of rights that we have. The Bill of Rights provide NO RIGHTS to anyone. The Bill of Rights PROTECT the People’s pre-existing rights. The Bill of Rights tell the Feds that they cannot make any law or infringe on these certain rights. And any rights which are not listed are retained by the people. This is because we DO NOT derive any rights from government. The Constitution is where we tell the government what their limited role is. WE ALREADY HAVE ALL NATURAL RIGHTS.”

  17. So ship off to “war” then slave. Obviously we are taking our marching orders from two completely different sources. I love the language in that “ruling”. “Army”(which should be voluntary), “Militia”(which should be the civilian voluntary “army”) and “jury”(HA! Ok, I can understand “serving the state” in that instance). The obvious problem with this so-called “ruling” is(and let this serve as a reminder), we are “the state”, he who is so quick to take his marching orders. You my friend sound like a sheepish slave. Maybe “Farmer’s slave” is a more appropriate moniker for you now. And whoever is shamelessly putting this wack banana blog bullshit up needs to chill. 39. “Fear Riser”, I can assure you that the only other person using the word “bo” or posting with the word “bo” in the moniker or in comment is totally licensed and authorized to do so. In fact you should try it. Go ahead: “Bo Riser”. See, you can do it. You see the word “bo” is simply a descriptive noun, al beit used usually by one, in particular commenter on this site. Anyone can use it though to describe something that is wack, corny, cornballs, ridiculous or, well, “bo”. For an even more intensive description of how insanely wack something is, you can use the adjunct, “bo-bo”. Such as “You can’t litter with a banana is a bo-bo name for a website.” Or “Willy Bobo was my favorite musician.” Try it: “My name is Fear Riser and not only is my choice of a name to address this issue that I am severely mistaken about “bo”, but the way I have addressed and described this so-called “really whack” situation, is absolutely and ridiculously “bo-bo”. In turn, I am ultra “bo”.” See anyone can do it, even the bo-ist of the bo. Again, I whole heartedly assure you that the only one using the bo noun on this site besides the “bo guy” thus far is the Fed Farmer. If you had keen or sharp sensibilities you would have identified immediately the differences between the two styles of comment and usage or at least had a suspicion which it seems you did. Now if anyone uses the moniker “Ashanti” then we have an obvious name rapist and should be rightfully and dutifully frowned upon. As you can see, I have thoughtfully and quite obviously, graced my usual moniker as the “Towel” as the “Bowel”, obviously siting the rhyming nature of the two names, but also making use of the duplicitous nature of the proper name for an asshole’s corridor. It saddens me when I have to travel this route, but alas, sometimes it is necessary. No pun intended. But again, I assure you, the only one posting under a non-assumed name is the Fed Farmer, who is completely licensed, trained and permitted with use of the term. I also assure you no one will be posting under Fed Farmer anytime soon as they will be exposed almost immediately and charged with the most heinous of crimes, identity rape. But watch how many half wits attempt it. Also watch how many people start using the word “bo” as it has finally garnered the attention it rightfully deserves.
Anyhow, onto other and more important news. I highly suggest everyone in Tearies/Bo-Bo Land listen to this interview with Webster Tarpley where he systematically breaks it down about Oboma, the economy and just exactly where we’re going. 53. I just wanted to take a moment to address all of these Abraham Lincoln/Barack Obama comparisons being flaunted by the Obama Administration, the federal “bureaucracy” that is the “United States Government”, the inaugural campaign and the mainstream and so-called “left, liberal” media. No doubt the election and coming presidency is being heralded and compared to that of “The Great Emancipator”, Abraham Lincoln, but even before Obama has taken office. Quite dangerous, to say the least, if you are familiar with the rise of totalitarian, “cult of personality”, fascist dictatorships.(See Naomi Wolf’s book “The End of America” or read or listen to any Webster Griffin Tarpley) I just want to remind you tools of the true nature of Lincoln’s presidency and his views on slavery, African American’s in general and the true causes of the so-called “Civil War”.(Which, by the way, was not, by the true definition of civil war, a civil war at all. Since civil war is defined as a conflict between factions or sections of a nation, it turns out the MAJORITY OF CITIZENS in each southern state comprising the Confederacy had FREELY ELECTED TO LEAVE THE UNION, hence not making the United States united or a “union” anymore. In fact Confederate PRESIDENT Davis said in his inaugural address on Feb. 18, 1861 that “the American idea that government rests upon the consent of the governed, and that it is the right of the people to alter or abolish a government whenever it becomes destructive of the ends for which it was established. The declared purposes of the compact of Union from which we have withdrawn were to establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, to provide for the common defense, to promote the general welfare, and to secure the blessings of liberty for ourselves and our posterity; and when in the judgment of the sovereign States now comprising this Confederacy it had been perverted from the purposes for which it was ordained, and had ceased to answer the ends for which it was established, an appeal to the ballot box declared that so far as they were concerned the government created by that compact should cease to exist. In this they merely asserted a right, which the Declaration of Independence of 1776 defined to be inalienable… When they entered into the Union of 1789, it was with the undeniable recognition of the power of the people to resume the authority delegated for the purposes of that government whenever, in their opinion, its functions were perverted and its ends defeated.” He went on to say that the sovereign states comprising the Confederacy do so by their own will as constituted by the Declaration and the Constitution and is only by an abuse of language that this act was deemed a “revolution” by the United States(Union) government at the time.)
Anyhow, any properly educated historian or economist will tell you that the conflict that took place on this continent between 1861 and 1865, otherwise known as the “Civil War”, was fought over economics and not slavery. It is widely known that the South wanted to buy cheaper imported European products, but the powerful Northern manufacturers imposed strict import tariffs on such products. All the while, as some researchers make the claim, war between the two regions of the United States was being provoked by international financiers and European banking interests seeking to take control over the United States, fearing an end to their own hegemony and control over the issuance and control over capital and natural resources. It is also widely known by astute students of monetary policy and banking in this country and abroad, that after the War of 1812(sometimes called the 2nd War for American Independence), President Andrew Jackson had already quelled the national debt, put off repeated attempts at creating a central bank in this country and in the next year, halted inflation caused by overzealous land speculation by ordering that public lands be sold only for gold or silver. All of this strengthened the United States after the defeat of the British in the War of 1812, furthering the military and economic might of the United States.
Anyhow, back to Lincoln. It is widely known(only the history books don’t tell) that Lincoln’s views(his own words say enough) towards African Americans at the time when these European banking interests sought to use the United States’ regional differences in hopes of exploiting and dividing the United States(divide and conquer), were nothing less than contemptuous at best. In his famous 4th debate with Stephen Douglass on September 18th, 1858 Lincoln said, “I will say, then, that I AM NOT NOR HAVE EVER BEEN in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the black and white races—that I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of making voters or jurors of negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with White people; and I will say in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the White and black races which will ever FORBID the two races living together on terms of social and political equality. And inasmuch as they cannot so live, while they do remain together, there must be the position of superior and inferior, and I, as much as any other man, am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the White race.” It is also widely known(to those who study history) that throughout much of Lincoln’s presidency he advocated colonization. That is. a deporting of all blacks to Haiti and Liberia.
So, it wasn’t until his famous Emancipation Proclamation on Jan. 1, 1863 that Lincoln “freed all slaves in rebel held territory.” Most regard this as a purely political act since technically Lincoln had no authority in the sovereign Confederacy at the time of the proclamation. It was also a purely strategic act. It brought the issue of slavery to the forefront of the conflict. Lincoln explained this strategic gesture by stating, “Things had gone from bad to worse, until I felt that we reached the end of our rope on the plan we had pursuing; that we had about played our last card, and must change our tactics or lose the game. I now determined upon the adoption of the emancipation policy.” So it was only halfway through the conflict that slavery(not Lincoln’s personal views on race mind you) became a central issue in the Civil War.
With that being said, it is safe to say that Lincoln truly believed the institution of slavery to be “a moral, social and political evil.” I believe it is integral to note as well that Lincoln was wholly committed to saving the Union, which he demonstrated in his letter to New York Tribune editor and founder Horace Greeley, where he said, “If I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would do it, and if I could save it by freeing all the slaves I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone I would also do that.” It is also integral to note that with that being said, Lincoln demonstrated in the very next sentence, that he was putting his personal beliefs on race aside when he said, “What I do about slavery, and the colored race, I do because I believe it helps to save the Union; and what I forbear, I forbear because I do not believe it would help to save the Union.”
The Proclamation was a brilliant strategic maneuver and it was one of two deciding factors in the North’s victory over the South. The other was Russia’s quiet intervention to keep the preying English and French forces at bay. With that being said, it is also integral to note that Lincoln was the first president to institute a military draft, where subsequently, riots broke out in several major cities in the North because of it. To control insurrection in the North due to the reaction to conscription, Lincoln trampled the Constitution by suspending habeas corpus(right to see a judge and appeal against unlawful imprisonment. It must be noted though, that Section 9 of the US Constitution allows suspension of habeas corpus in “cases of rebellion or invasion”, (some say) a flaw and obvious loop hole in the Constitution, utilized not only in this instance by Lincoln, but by Bush the son, after the Sept. 11 attacks and rationalized by the “War on Terror”.).
Essentially as described by author G. Edward Griffin, not only were American citizens in the North “killed in the streets of their own cities, but they were put into military combat against their own will and/or thrown into prison without due process of the law.” Essentially, says Jim Marrs in “Rule by Secrecy, “free men were enslaved so slaves could be made free”. And all done under the guise of opposing slavery.
So to make a long story short, take heed when you see the establishment throwing around these comparisons of Lincoln and Barack Obama and vice versa, for if anyone wishes to contest, I have a hard time seeing any comparisons at all except the color of Obama’s skin tone in relation to those who Lincoln supposedly “freed”.
One last thing I must note, it is interesting to point out that the two U.S. Presidents that have issued their own debt free currencies in defiance of the international banking cartels and financiers, Lincoln’s “Greenback” and Kennedy’s “U.S. Treasury note”, were both killed by assassin’s bullets. Go figure.

  70. Looks like homeboy got to you dog…..they dun got to you real good-like. You need to learn how to take that shit on the chin, mate. Just like you do in dem back alleys. But that was just a joke, not a dose of man-milk. So I guess it may take some practice.

  71. has anyone else noticed toymachines unwavering support for the naked emperor barak obama? in fact, just recently, a customer wrote in commenting on how they felt it disturbing a company, whose core demographic is children, would post on their website political propaganda.
    “…I noticed that your
company openly supports Barack Obama. I can’t believe you have the nerve to try and influence young kids politically by posting his name on your product web page. Just sad. I will not be buying anything from Toy Machine.” wrote the individual. Ed templeton responded: “Not supporting companies you don’t like is the real power we regular people have in this country…We at Toy Machine are not journalists and have no obligation to be unbiased or “fair and balanced.” If you want “fair and balanced” watch Fox News…Toy Machine will not cower silently in the corner hoping people buy our boards because a few Republican nut-jobs don’t want us to..We don’t wear blinders to what is happening in our world…I would never knowingly support a company that supported George Bush.” the comments section to eds post was litterd with “fukk ya’s” from ed’s “loyal pawns”. im sure ed was damned proud. little does he know hes a perfect example of how ignorant and ill informed “..regular people” in this country really are. what a motivation to keep educating yourself and trying your damnedest to put the puzzle pieces together and speak out.
