Weekened update….

Looks like the guys at 48 Blocks tracked Pat Stiener down through the trailer-park/meth-lab jungles of Lakeland, Florida just long enough to get an interview out of him. Check it out.
We also just added the Stereo Box Set to the Theories store over the weekend, with “A Visual Sound” The Lizzie McGuire Movie video finally finding it’s way to the DVD format after all these years. And in case you missed THIS story over the weekend, it is a subject that is bound to spark a million comments of disgust and disappointment in humanity.

7 or 8 legs?

I don’t know what to think about this but it made me laugh at least a few times as I read through
the chain of emails bouncing back and forth.

TIME MACHINE #4: The Hi-8 Mixtape

Where would Theories be without my buckets of old Hi-8 and DV tapes? I’ve been shit at creating new posts lately but things are moving along and I’m working on a few things behind the scenes to make sure that Theories never goes through these lulls of inactivity again. Anyways, I dug out my old VHS mixtapes I used to dump footage to when I’d get home from filming. My friends would always meet me at my house to go filming and I’d be far from ready to leave, so I’d always have these mixtapes to throw in the VCR and entertain them with while I did whatever I had to do to pack up my stuff. I literally have hours upon hours of these things and I would say about 40% of the footage never got used. Bad for the skaters in the footage but good for us now.
If you were ever involved in the Tampa scene, this first batch of footage will be a bit nostalgic. If not, there’re are plenty of interesting bits mixed in including Penny, Gino, Barley, Dill, Hughes and a host of other randoms that were subjected to my bail gun in the late 90’s. Behold….7 minutes of of High-8 randomness.D-War release

Who's Thirsty?

.!.

Yes, yes, another indepedent video has hit the shelves……but this time it’s representing
New Jersey instead of Cleveland. Justin White has produced his first film here with “New Thirsty”
and it is a valliant effort. I thought he was never going to finish this thing so I’m really stoked to see it
as a finished product. Especially psyched to see a German Nieves and Andy Bautista part. Most of the other faces in this film are new to me but I was pleasantly surprised by many of them.
All types of terrain covered in “New Thirsty” including a tranny and pool section, which was unexpected to say the least. So go to your local shop and ask them to order it or get it here.
And make sure to check out “Windows and Doorways” too if you haven’t yet. You’re definitely missing out if you sleep on it.

"Damnit man!"

I’ve been working on a small project lately for which I’ve had to dig through mountains of old dv tapes from over the past 10 years. I went through 103 tapes in the past 48 hrs alone. A lot of funny memories were triggered here and there but one of the most intriguing moments for me was stumbling onto all of the ripping footage of this little guy when he was knee high to a grasshopper

The Hunger movie download

. We probably should’ve taken him to HRS instead of to skatespots, but damnit man, his style was already better than all of y’alls when he was just 12 yrs old.

Windows and Doorways

Just added a new item to the Theories Store…..”Windows and Doorways”, a new video by filmmaker Joe Bressler of Cleveland, Ohio. The video is off the chain and highlights a forgotten city of the midwest with lots of flavor and really sick skateboarding.
Check trailer here and then click the image to view it in the store.

Time out….

Let’s take a little pause for a second here.
Every time I show this video to somebody they claim they’ve never seen it before, which is baffling to me.
Anyways, pardon me if I’ve already posted it in the past…but hot damn, we need a break from
credit crises and controlled demolishing religions
