Theories of Atlantis

Steve Brandi moved to New York a few months ago and always has his digi camera in tow, ready to catch random bizarre moments in the blink of an eye. Which in New York city happens about every 45 seconds. During any given day Steve will walk up to me and say “Hey, watch this” as he presses PLAY and some random hilarious video clip plays or strange photo appears on the screen. Steve and I are both from Tampa, so an average day in NY hanging out and skating with our friends is like a trip to a freak show.
So we’ll make the “Point of View” a continuing feature as long as Steve can keep bagging gems like this and delivering them up for our entertainment-starved eyes.

This is seriously insane. How this was discovered is beyond me.
A good friend of mine, Neil Chester, who does the majority of the filming for Blueprint Skateboards, sent me this link with instructions to “skip forward to 31 minutes and 10 seconds”. There, he claimed, I would discover an interview
with the man from the credits of Static III who berates the camera with a 3 minute long scolding for sitting on the sidewalk “like dogs” in his beloved neighborhood. So I followed the instructions, fast forwarded to the spot suggested and I’ll be damned if it’s not that exact same bastard but roughly 30 years in the past. Unbelievable!
Neil, perhaps you should be working for Scotland Yard investigating unsolved crimes instead of filming skateboarding?

Josh Friedberg has a site called “Know Skateboarding” and he contibutes video pieces to a site called Vimby.
Josh came all the way out for the NY premiere and filmed & put together this well done little video piece on the
night. My interview/speech is bloody painful to watch, but there’s an ill Lil Dap voiceover and some sick Jero the Damaja interviews.

So Steve Brandi and I drove back home to NY after Thanksgiving in Fla. Pat Stiener took a break from frat-boy keggers in Lakeland to join us on our mission. We stopped through Raleigh to visit our good friend Will Campbell

and his dog w/ Down’s Syndrome and shredded a TF spot in Durham to pieces. The next day we shot up to DC to skate for a few days with Zach Lyons who was kind enough to put us up. It stayed dry just long enough for Zach to show us a bunch of ill DC spots, then the skies opened up and pissed on our parade. After shitting around in 37 different Starbucks, creeping the bar scene and hanging out with local legends Paul Macelroy and Sean O’Brien, we realized that we could victimize Zach by forcing him into the “3 Strikes” contest. The only dry flatrgound was at the public library. After some words from a wise prophet Zach was inspired to step up to the plate.
