Canary in the mine: Puleo

The vicious machine grows stronger…..corporate gentrification has slithered even further into the skateboard industry and claimed yet another victim. First we saw Quim Cardona get the axe, next it was Jon Newport, then Danny Renaud….these decisions hit my ears w/ much surprise. Jon Newport rips, and gets quite a bit of coverage…and, yeah, Danny Renaud may drink his own piss from time to time, but he also looks better on a skateboard than about 99% of pros in the industry. Let alone has one of the best video parts of the new millenium under his belt from “Mosaic”. But when the axe made it’s most recent swing and Bobby Puleo found himself w/out a job, I knew shit had gotten to Red Dawn status. An important personality in the world of skateboarding, and a veteran pro of 9 yrs, Bobby was by far the most vocal skater on this company’s roster, protesting the bad decisions they were making. Not only was he trying to protect his own interests but also looking out for a team in which he saw great potential. Not that Bob is the most delicate ambassador in the world…watching him talk business is remeniscent of watching a bull try to navigate through a china shop. But still…a world in which Bobby Puleo is starving, in which Ricky Oyola struggles to pay his bills and in which the very people selling out skateboarding to the mainstream audience are the ones getting money thrown at them left and right, is a world in which I find little hope for our “sport”.
People welcome these Trojan horses into skateboarding with open arms…”please, please bring your corporate dollars to our rescue and save our shop, save our shoe company, save our board brand!”. Then all of a sudden that very “saviour” is drifting lightyears away from the very thing that company originally stood for. Next thing you know your brand has a storefront in Times Square beneath fucking TRL. But what do you care anymore….you’re sitting on a beach in the bahamas swimming through your piles of cash while Rome burns.
And it’s bullshit if anyone tries to claim that it has to happen this way. Planet Earth and Adio are two of the most respectable companies in the industry in the way they treat their riders and keep their teams together…and they were bought out years ago. It does NOT have to be this way. The company in question still has some great people working for it and riding for the brand. I’m not trying to tarnish any names. But I think it’s important for people to take notice when things like this start going down and to let their voices be heard. And with the way things are going in this country, voicing our opinions may soon be a luxury of the past….so I’m going to take advantage while I still can.

"A conspiracy website"…?

I can understand when people come to this site and get frustrated. “We wanna see skateboarding stuff, not conspiracy brainwashing!”. There’s been an ongoing theme of arguments that’ve gone back and forth on this site for almost a year now. But what people don’t understand is that it’s all connected. If you can’t see the relevance of the corruption we try to expose on this site to the sad state that skateboarding is in right now, maybe you’re eyes are shut. And what you don’t understand is that we’re actually DE-brainwashing you…it’s a bit different. You also have to understand that I’ve been locked in an edit suite for nearly 3 months straight and getting skate-related content right now is a very difficult task. Once the video is done and out I can promise you that Theories will take off into a ton of new content. There’s been a heated exchange going back and forth between a few readers lately about this stuff and I posted a long reply this morning that I think sums up a lot of what I’ve needed to tell people on this site for a long time. So click on the comments section of this post to see my reply and then give me some of your thoughts on the issue.

Strange bedfellows…

Fish around on Youtube at 3 in the morning for long enough and you’ll stumble across some of the most bizarre scenes imaginable.
Never did I think the names KRS One and Sean Hannity would be used in the same sentence, let alone see them appear together on a FOX TV broadcast. This is a seriously bizarre exchange in which Hannity tries to use his usual tactics of manipulation and context-mutilation. But KRS holds his own and proves that entertainment and education don’t have to be antithetical ideas.

Seroiusly, this shit is HAPPENING!

People, people…every time this issue is brought up, all I hear are crickets in the comments section.
When I first heard about the Amero and the North American Union, even with all the conspiracy backlog clogging up my brain, I still didn’t believe it was real. But this thing is advancing like a heat-seeking missile on us and nobody in America is batting an eyelash. Please, show this to everyone you know. This should be on the front page of EVERY paper and on the top of every news broadcast.

Where should it premier?

Ok…the Static III video is literally about 10 days from completion. So the next question becomes, where should it premier first? There will be an official Static III premier in all of these cites:
New York, Tampa, Miami, DC, London, Paris, SF, Tokyo, Boston, Philly, and Houston.
But where would be appropriate for the actual world premier?
New York is the hub of the east coast, but Tampa is my hometown.
London has a great scene and is home to the skater with one of the best parts in the video.
But Paris is also home to another one of the illest parts in the video and it is the most travelled-through city in the world.
This is a tough decision…what do you fools think?

Asking questions now illegal.

Check out this post on the Victim site.
Holy 1st amendnent SHIT!!!
This kid is annoying and all but, mind you, he’s got 6 armed cops behind him so he’s gotta get all of his questions off before they kick him out. Little did he know what was in store for him. And for what is now a precedent that’ll strike fear in the hearts of all who consider asking such questions in the future. Something to really think about.

Here are two of the original clips.

Remember or Forget?

.!.

6 years ago today the world changed forever.
There’s not a soul on the planet that doesn’t know what happened on that chilling morning September 11th, 2001, but there is a strong division between those that choose to remember and those that want to forget.
To simply accept the story told by the media and our government about who commited those attrocious acts and why they did it, is just shy of choosing to forget. If MY family member, MY colleague, MY friend was murdered in cold blood I would never rest until I had rock solid proof that the perpetrators were identified, improsoned or dead. But this is just what most Americans are choosing to do…because it WAS your family that was murdered that day, it is YOUR rights that are being demolished as an result and it is YOUR governement who is responsible. During the 4 days preceeding Sept 11th this year a group name “We Are Change” launched a series of demonstrations, meetings, film-screenings, symposiums and impressive speakers. I was fortunate enough to attend the world premier screening of Alex Jones’ brand new film “End Game” as well as an early sneak peek at the “Loose Change:Final Cut” premier. Both films were shocking and were choc full of new and incredible footage. Loose Change:Final Cut alone shuts the door on the debunkers by catching the 9/11 Commission and the NIST lying through their teeth. It’s unbelievable.
Alex Jones was on fire all weekend and so was his number one fan Bobby Puleo.
I was only able to attend the last minutes of today’s events at Ground Zero in which our group was assaulted by a group of angry firefighters. A brawl nearly broke out as these honorable men shouted profanities at members of the 9/11 Truth group and got in some of our faces threatening violence. In response the members simply spoke back to them “We are fighting for YOU. We are fighting for YOUR fallen brothers!”. Why do people continue to defend their opressors?
It was a powerful weekend to to be a part of and I was lucky to be in this city to witness it.

3 Strikes: Josh Stewart

So…we’ve got a new recurring feature on the site. It’s called “3 Strikes”…basically, we’ll randomly spotlight a skater and give him 3 tries to film a flatground line on the little digi camera. If you only make one trick you’re bummin, because that’s what gets posted online.
So, naturally, nobody has been willing to be the first to take the challenge. So I became the guinea pig. Which was a bad move for everyone else, because my line is pretty much as awesome as it gets. The bar has been raised to astronomical heights, my friends. And it was, by the way, first try. So mine should realistically be renamed “1 Strike”.
Or more appropriately “Homerun”.
So, BEHOLD losers….MY “3 Strikes”!!!

STATIC III: Latest update!

Yeah, yeah, yeah….promises, promises. Who really takes promises seriously these days?
Haven’t we all been conditioned into not believing in anything we read these days?
Didn’t all those years of watching Fox News teach you anything?

So, Static III…..it’s a bit late isn’t it?
I’m having trouble…mostly I can’t seem to settle on an intro idea or figure out how to shoot the idea I DO have. Add to that a crashed hard-drive with no backup and I’m sitting at my desk with a pile of my own hair that I’ve been pulling out for days. No shit. And it doesn’t help that I have the Lakai, Nike and Habitat videos all haunting me in my subconcious. And I know that each passing day is a day that Static III could be on shelves before these blockbusters.
It’s coming to the point where I HAVE to reserve theaters for premiers, but what if I don’t finish it in time?
My Japanese distributor already has a premier scheduled and advertised for September 19th.
I could always just perform a public execution of myself instead. That would be quite a show.
I think it’s safe to say that the video will be complete and ready to show by Sept 28th.
Does anybody wanna call my friend in Japan to break the bad news for me?
