Am I the only one making the comparison between hip-hop and skateboarding?
Has anybody else noticed that both had their most recent renaissance at pretty much the same era and are now sharing a similar lack of style, soul and quality?
I wonder if both will eventually be buried in the same graveyard? Hmmm…this is something to ponder indeed.
But while we mull that one over, let’s take a peek at a recent Brooklyn performance of one of the greats I attended the other night…..Jeru + Group Home in Brooklyn together and only 40 people in attendance. What’s wrong with this world?

If you ever check in on the AreYouAVictim site, you’ll know that a certain reader and Victim site moderator Bobby Puleo have a tendancy to go at it like a couple of wild hyenas. The debates are often a good read which start as an honest debate with good points from both sides but always ends up like watching a car accident or a WWF wrestling match. But, what you might not know is that Bobby and this blogger are actually friends. The unnamed heckler showed his face recently in Brooklyn and we skated and debated the days away. Here they are, mid debate, building up plenty ammunition for a future online battle.

We spent 4 months in London this summer filming for STATIC III. When the sun doesn’t go down until almost 10pm, you end up slacking a lot of the day away. Here’s a dumb little edit of a typical day wasting away in London. There’s a little bit of actual skating in here but not much. Skaters include: Tuukka Korhonen, Olly Todd, Seth Curtis, Nick Jensen, Charlie Young, Paul Shier, and Rob Mathiesson. I think there’s a Will Harmon cameo in there as well. Then my favorite clip from the whole trip of the new friend we met on the train home one night.
